Key Worker Support - Early Intervention

As the primary therapist and Key Worker, I provide tailored support for children aged 0–9 years. The Key Worker model is a research-backed, best practice approach in early childhood intervention, ensuring children receive coordinated, holistic support across home, community, and daily routines.

I guide intervention planning and work closely with allied health professionals, educators, and community providers to ensure strategies are implemented consistently and effectively. Using this proven framework, I focus on building strong relationships, coaching and empowering families, and supporting each child’s developmental goals in practical and meaningful ways.

To support each child’s progress, therapy follows a structured cycle: assessment, goal setting, strategy implementation, and ongoing review. This ensures interventions are individualised to the child, progress is monitored over time, and families are actively involved at every step.

ESDM Therapy

The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is a play-based, evidence-informed therapy for toddlers and young children (12 months to 6 years) with autism or developmental delays. It combines developmental and behavioral approaches, including ABA principles, to support social, communication, cognitive, and motor skills. Unlike traditional ABA, ESDM uses natural, play-based interactions rather than structured trials, focusing on social learning and development across multiple areas.

Therapy is guided by the ESDM curriculum checklist, which allows progress to be systematically assessed, tracked, and targeted across multiple developmental domains. Delivered through everyday activities, it encourages family participation and helps children build skills, confidence, and independence within a relationship-focused framework.

Parent Coaching

Parent coaching supports parents and carers to build skills, confidence, and understanding within their child’s everyday environments. Coaching is often embedded within sessions with your child, where strategies are collaboratively discussed, modelled, practiced, and reflected on together in real time. This helps ensure strategies are practical, meaningful, and easily carried over into daily routines.

Stand-alone coaching sessions, available in person or via telehealth, are also offered. These sessions can be helpful for exploring specific concerns, planning next steps, problem-solving challenges, or focusing on family-identified goals without your child present. Coaching is tailored to each family’s priorities and aims to empower parents to feel confident supporting their child between sessions.
